Insolvency proceedings 2012–2013

The Management Board presented 19 March 2012 the District Court of Montabaur a bankruptcy petition for the holding and a profit transfer and control agreement affiliates. The insolvency proceedings under the direction of self-administration were opened on June 1, 2012. In July 2012 it was decided to draw up an insolvency plan for the reorganization of the company. At the time of bankruptcy, SIAG had 1700 employees. In March 2013, the insolvency proceedings were concluded with the approval of the creditors' meeting, and the company's headquarters were relocated from Dernbach im Westerwald to Dresden at the end of 2012.

Siag Stahlbau Ruhland GmbH & Co. KG was not affected by the insolvency of SIAG Holding in spring 2012 because it had already been sold to private shareholders in July 2011.

In March 2012, SIAG Anlagen GmbH in Massen-Niederlausitz opened its own insolvency proceedings and the company was spun off from the SIAG Group. In May 2013 were in masses all employees terminated and closed the site.

In October 2012, SIAG Nordseewerke, which manufactures foundations for offshore platforms (for offshore wind turbines ), filed for insolvency because their connection to the onshore power grid is stalling and sales have collapsed as a result. The Saarland-based company DSD Steel, Saarlouis, took over SIAG Nordseewerke at the beginning of 2013, but only received 240 of 750 jobs whose continued employment was secured until mid-2014. At the end of May 2015, the Nordseewerke, which still had 188 employees, 80% of whom had been on short-time work since September 2014, filed for bankruptcy again.

The SIAG board of directors consisted of two people: Attorney Andrew Seidl (Chairman) and Willy Hartung (Chief Financial Officer). Roland Schüttpelz was Chief Financial Officer until December 15, 2011; he was then recalled with immediate effect.

The insolvency proceedings were overturned by order of the Montabaur District Court on September 27, 2013. The company has been operating as SIAG Industries GmbH since 2013 .
