The 1994 Seniors World Chess Championship was an international chess tournament that took place in Biel from July 23 to August 5, 1994 .

The senior world chess championship was organized by FIDE and held during the international chess festival in Switzerland in the second half of July .
The open world championship was won by Mark Taimanow . 62 men and women took part, but there was no separate tournament for the women, but the best woman in the championship received the title of world champion. This was Éva Karakas from Hungary (place 24), the best German was Irene Winter (place 42). Erich Krüger was the best German (14th place).
