Bernd Schadewald
Bernd Schadewald (born November 24, 1950 in Lübeck ) is a German director and author .
biography
Bernd Schadewald studied at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum from 1969 , then initially worked as an assistant director in theater, television and film productions and as an editor for SWR children's radio. Since 1978 he has written scripts for various early evening series on German television such as Peter Strohm , Der Fahnder , Ein Fall für Zwei and Wilsberg - In old friendship and directed them.
Schadewald made his first television film in 1982 with The Day of Reckoning, based on a book by Patricia Highsmith . For the Bonn theater he directed the play Klassen-Feind by Nigel Williams in 1984 and Clockwork Orange in 1988 based on the novel by Anthony Burgess . For the latter, Die Toten Hosen wrote the music for the stage, including the song Here comes Alex , with which the band had their commercial breakthrough.
The drama Loser attracted attention at the 1986 Munich Film Festival . This is about the willingness to use violence on the part of German as well as foreign young people, about youth gangs and their social environment. A theme that runs like a red thread through Schadewald's work.
Schadewald has been married to actress Michaela May since 2006 , who took on the role of narrator in his documentary about pop singer Manuela .
