Pub Andresen

The Andresen pub is a listed pub in Katingsiel , which administratively belongs to the city of Tönning in Schleswig-Holstein . A trading center had developed here, to which the Andresen pub, the old bakery and the former customs house opposite testify.

In the Frisian nave of the Andresen pub there is a tiled room with original Delft tiles. One of the peculiarities It is uniformly covered at ceiling height with tiles of only one pattern, which is colloquially referred to as "sun, moon and stars". The tiles manufactured in Makkum, Netherlands, under the name “Rozenster” from 1750 onwards are also unusual because of their purple-brown color. Since four tiles belong together, this manganese-burned motif is called a four-pass ornament.

In connection with renovation work in the 1990s, an examination of the ceiling in the kitchen found that the wooden beams have such a high salt content that it can be assumed that they had already been lying in the water at the time of the great mandrels.

Until the end of 2013, the owner was Wilhelm Andresen (* November 7, 1931, † August 29, 2016), known in the region as "Grandpa Eiergrog". The trademark of the pub is the Eiergrog , for which Wilhelm's mother, Cathrine Andresen, was already known, who was called "Blonde Kathrein" from the 1920s. For more than 60 years she had managed the old economy at the Süderbootfahrt and made it a certain celebrity, which was reflected in the first television reports in the 1970s.

Both the Andresen pub and Cathrine and Wilhelm Andresen were mentioned in numerous non-fiction books or appeared as supporting actors in crime novels or novels such as those by Wimmer Wilkenloh .

Use as a location

TV teams reported several times about the old economy or used it as a backdrop for reports. B. ZDF as part of the series “Novel Worlds” on the subject of “ The Schimmelreiter ” by Theodor Storm .

In the spring of 2008, director Christian Görlitz briefly transformed the old house into a gas station for the comedy Ein Job , in which Vanessa Redgrave played a leading role.

In 2009, the pub Andresen 2 for all cases - A song for the murderer with Jan Fedder and Axel Milberg in the leading roles as well as Nina Petri and Oliver Wnuk was filmed under the direction of Lars Jessen .
