Location of Scharendijke in the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland |

Scharendijke is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It belongs to the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and is located a little east of the Provincialeweg, on the Brouwersdam , which connects the island of Schouwen-Duiveland with Rotterdam via the island of Overflakkee . The village is located directly on the Grevelingen . This inland sea is a paradise for divers because of the clear water. Some of the popular diving spots in Grevelingen are right by Scharendijke.
Scharendijke means something like Scharedeich (Schar = deep channel ) and can be traced back to the earlier management of the sea dikes. Since the storm surge of 1906, these dikes have also had so-called Muralt walls on the top of the dike as a special feature.
The village of Scharendijke had 1,320 inhabitants in 2017. The area of the place is 1.38 km².
