Schelestowe ( Ukrainian Шелестове ; Russian Шелестово Schelestowo ) is a village in the west of the Ukrainian Oblast Kharkiv with about 1500 inhabitants (2001).
The village, founded in 1775, has an area of 2.69 km² and is the administrative center of the 48.828 km² district council of the same name in the west of Kolomak Rajon , which also includes the villages of Bilousowe ( Білоусове , ⊙ ) with about 260 inhabitants, Hryhoriwka ( Григорівка , ⊙ ) with about 20 population, Nahalne ( Нагальне , ⊙ ) with about 120 inhabitants, Paschtscheniwka ( Пащенівка , ⊙ ) with about 170 inhabitants, Petropawliwka ( Петропавлівка , ⊙ ) with about 60 inhabitants, Pidlisne ( Підлісне , ⊙ ) with about 50 inhabitants and Zepotschkyne ( Цепочкине , ⊙ ) with about 60 inhabitants.
The village, which is close to the border with Poltava Oblast , is located at an altitude of 173 m on the bank of the Kolomak , a 102 km long tributary of the Worskla , about 8 km northwest of the Kolomak district center and 85 km west of the Kharkiv oblast center .
