Schellenbach was an independent municipality and is now part of the Ziemetshausen market in the Swabian district of Günzburg . It consists of the village of Vorderschellenbach and the church village of Hinterschellenbach .

history

Schellenbach got its name from the Schellenbach, a right tributary of the river .

From 1804 Schellenbach belonged to the Regional Court of Ursberg , from 1837 to the Regional Court of Krumbach , later the Krumbach District Office. In 1939 the name was changed to the Krumbach district . From July 1, 1972, Schellenbach belonged to the Günzkreis as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , which was renamed the Günzburg district on May 1, 1973 . On May 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the Ziemetshausen market.

Vorder- and Hinterschellenbach belong to the Catholic parish of Saint Peter and Paul in Ziemetshausen .
