Muttershofen is a church village and part of the market Ziemetshausen in the Swabian district of Günzburg .
The municipality also includes the village of Bauhofen and the hamlet of Roppelshausen .

location

The village is located about one and a half kilometers southwest of Ziemetshausen on the state road St 2027 in the valley of the Zusam , which divides the village into a western and an eastern part. Muttershofen, Bauhofen and Roppelshausen are in the perennials .

history

In the 14th century, the properties of the Weingarten and Steingaden monasteries in Muttershofen were first mentioned. Around 1600 the place belonged to the Fugger rule Mickhausen . For the longest time, the place, like most of the present-day community of Ziemetshausen, belonged to the Seyfriedsberg rule , which in turn was part of the Burgau margraviate . With the Peace of Pressburg in 1805, the place became part of Bavaria like the entire area between Iller and Lech . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Muttershofen was created with the municipal edict of 1818 , to which, in addition to Muttershofen, the village of Bauhofen and the hamlet of Roppelshausen belonged. In the course of the Bavarian regional reform , the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Ziemetshausen on July 1, 1972 .

Muttershofen, Bauhofen and Roppelshausen belong to the Catholic parish of St. Peter and Paul in Ziemetshausen.
