The Schellenberg is 554 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Taunus . It is located in the large community of Schmitten in the Hochtaunus district between the districts of Schmitten and Dorfweil .
To the west there are several smaller rocks and cliffs. The summit is also on a small cliff. An unusually large number of larches grow on the mountain near the peaks . Otherwise spruce , beech and oak predominate on the sometimes steep slopes . The Wiegerfelsen is located on the west side at the entrance to Schmitten .
On January 18 and 19, 2007, hurricane Kyrill also caused considerable damage in the Taunus. On the northwest side of the mountain, a large wind lane was created.
