history

The Schermau estate already existed in the 10th century. It was a Vorwerk that supplied the city of Dingolfing with food, among other things. The estate consisted of several farms that were organized from a large farm. All the farmers in the village were workers on the estate.

The owners of the Hofmark Schermau in the district court of Dingolfing were the Schermer in the 14th and 15th centuries. Jacob Schermer sold the village and Hofmark to Duke Heinrich the Rich in 1444 . In 1486 the Hofmark passed to the Niederaltaich monastery . In the 16th century the estate was owned by the Patzinger family, then by Grießenbeck until the 19th century. As a successor to Hofmark, the Patrimonial Court II. Class Schermau, which existed until 1848, was established in 1818 . In 1847 the Counts of Waldkirch became the owners of Schermau, and in the early 20th century the castle was inherited by Konrad von Malsen-Waldkirch from the family of the Barons von Malsen .

With the formation of the community in the 19th century, Schermau became part of the community of Frauenbiburg . The farm continued into the 20th century. Only then was the property transferred to other farmers. In the course of the regional reform , Schermau came to the city of Dingolfing on January 1, 1972 with the greater part of the community of Frauenbiburg. At the beginning of the 21st century there was an adult education facility on the premises of Gut Schermau, which was closed on December 11, 2011.
