The Schildkogel ( 2826  m above sea level ) is a mountain peak in the Gschlößkamm of the Venediger group in the north of East Tyrol (municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol ).

location

The Schildkogel is a summit in the far east of the Gschlößkamm between the Schnitzkogel ( 2911  m above sea level ) in the west and the Törleskogel ( 2710  m above sea level ) in the northeast. The Schildkogel is located in the long, tapering east ridge of the Schnitzkogel, while the Schildkogel northeast ridge leads over the Törleskogel and the "'s Törle" gap to the Spitzkogel ( 2606  m above sea level ). The Wildensee lies between the Wildenkogel and the Schild- and Törleskogel in the northwest . Due to its remoteness, the Schildkogel is rarely climbed; in the north, the Wildenkogelweg leads past it.
