The hamlet-like district is located on the federal road 250 from Eckartsberga coming to Bad Bibra leading in an arable area of the local hill country.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1300 as a stool . In 2012, 50 people lived in the district. The baroque altar painting in the church dates from 1755. On July 1, 1950, Schimmel was incorporated into Wischroda . The church tower was restored in 2004 with subsidies.
