history

The village was created as a result of extensive clearing measures. The first documentary mention took place on May 3rd, 1215. Another mention, which is recorded for the year 1304, names the family of the marshals of Trebra , who bought themselves in Frankroda. Since then, they have exercised the courts and other local jurisdictions for centuries. During the Thirty Years' War , the village of Oppenroda , northeast of Frankroda, was given up. Around 1822, 126 people lived in Frankroda, spread over 23 houses. On July 1, 1950 Frankroda was incorporated into Wischroda .
