Schlandraun , also called Schlandrauntal , is an orographically left side valley of the Vinschgau or upper Adige Valley in South Tyrol ( Italy ). At Schlanders , to which it administratively belongs, it branches off in a northerly direction and leads about 8 km into the Ötztal Alps . In the valley that juts 3366  m high Ramudlaspitze on which the Saldurkamm is attributed. The high valley is completely uninhabited today, the only buildings are alpine huts . From 2001 to 2004 archaeological investigations took place, the remains of the settlement and evidence of livestock farming between 1200 BC. And 200 AD. It is drained by the Schlandraunbach, documented in 1359 as aqua dicta Slandraun . Crossings to Schnals and Matsch are possible for hikers .
