Schlemmin is a district of the municipality of Bernitt in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Geography and transport links
The place is southwest of the core town of Bernitt. The Hohe Burg mountain west of Schlemmin is 147.4 m high and is one of the highest peaks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located in the 110 ha large nature reserve High Castle and Black Lake . The nearby 2.5-hectare Black Lake is the highest lake in Mecklenburg.
The A 20 runs northwest of the village and the state road 14 runs south .
history
The place was founded in 1248. For many decades it was a forest workers' settlement. On January 1, 2000, the Schlemmin community was incorporated into Bernitt.
Attractions
- The Schlemmin television tower is a 94 meter high transmission tower owned by Deutsche Telekom AG southwest of Schlemmin.
- The Schlemmin castle wall southwest of the village is an old Slavic refuge from the 7th to 9th centuries.
