Schlettwein is a district of the town of Pößneck in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Schlettwein is located northwest of the former city limits after the Öpitz district in a rural and natural area. Fields, meadows and forests greet the residents and guests of the district from close by. Trannroda is the rural neighboring town. The federal road 281 at Öpitz can be reached after about 2 km . The surroundings of Saalfeld and Triptis can be reached via the federal highway 281 with a connection to the federal highway 9 .

With line 969 and line C of the Service Stadt Pössneck mobil of the transport company KomBus , Schlettwein has a connection to the core town of Pößneck .

history

Schlettwein was first mentioned in a document in December 1074. The discovery from 1958 proves the early settlement of this village. A younger Bronze Age depot find with three bronze cups was found, but it was not until 1964 that G. Möbius recognized the prehistoric find. A fortified mansion surrounded by moats was located in the middle of the village on the site of the later manor. There are no remains of the system. The village church was built in 1608 using parts of the Romanesque predecessor.
