description

The hall church was built in 1608 using parts of the Romanesque predecessor. The nave is almost square. The rectangular choir has moved in. The nave and the choir are covered together with a half-hip roof. From it rises a six-sided roof turret , in which three small bronze church bells hang, the oldest from 1826, the two younger from 1958, cast by the Schilling family of bell-makers . Today, however, for reasons of the stability of the building, they are no longer allowed to be rung because they do not have their own belfry , but were simply hung in the beams of the ridge turret.

The interior was spanned in 1608 with a pointed arch, wooden barrel vault. To find space for its installation, the tension beams of the roof truss were removed. In the choir area the barrel vault is painted with a representation of the Holy Trinity . The lower gallery carries the organ , the upper one the patron s box . Its parapets were painted with biblical scenes in 1892. The pulpit altar dates from the second half of the 18th century and displays rococo - ornaments . Two tombs with rococo decorative shapes belonging to the Bachofen von Echt family are each to the side of the triumphal arch. The altar table was only erected in the 19th century. He is wearing a Gothic crucifix on a gem cross . The church was renovated several times in the 18th and 19th centuries.
