Sandelzhausen Castle is a former Imperial Palace in Sandelzhausen , City of Mainburg . Today it is owned by the Wimmer family as a brewery inn.

history

Sandelzhausen was mentioned as a royal estate in a document from Ludwig the German around 840. The old palace was already in place in 1393, the newer one was built after 1650. Different noble families took turns in ownership of the Hofmark . The last noble owners were the Barons von Hornstein , whose patrimonial rights were revoked in 1848. On February 18, 1892, the brewery, founded in 1623, and the castle came into the possession of the Wimmer family. The castle brewery was shut down in 1985.
