The Schlossbrauerei zu Sandersdorf is a castle brewery in Altmannstein - Sandersdorf ( Bavaria ).
history
In Schloss Sandersdorf has been brewed since 1550 beer. Until 1946 the brewery was housed directly in the castle, then for reasons of space it was moved to its current location below the castle at the entrance to the town. In 1995 the brewery was sold to a private entrepreneur, before that it was owned by Baron de Bassus. For a long time the beers were named after the old lords of the castle. For the Italian market, beer was brewed under the Demetra brand. De Bassus has been running a brewpub in Orihuela since 2010 . Other de Bassus brewpubs are located in Moscow , Lipetsk and Voronezh .
Takeover by Kuchlbauer
With effect from January 1, 2019, the brewery was sold to the Abensberg brewery Kuchlbauer and the Salleck family. At that time the annual output was around 6,000 hl of beer and 500 hl of non-alcoholic drinks. Salleck changed the concept of the brewery. Since the takeover, only one variety has been brewed, that Sandersdorfer Bio-Hell. The export to Italy was stopped. At the same time, barrel and bottle filling was relocated to Abensberg. The brewery building is to be rebuilt by the architect Peter Pelikan in the style of Hundertwasser .
