Schlupkothen is a district of Wülfrath .

Location

The sparsely populated district is in the east of the city on the city limits of Wuppertal . It is cut through by Landesstrasse 74 / Bundesstrasse B224 (old) . Most of the residential development is along the state road. In the district there is a Protestant church and the Catholic church of St. Barbara , as well as a sports field. The Düssel is the most important flowing water in the place.

Until it was shut down, the Niederbergbahn ran parallel to the state road. The district of Mettmanner tram connected the district to the main town. Today the WSW mobil bus lines 601 and SB69 take on this connection task .

South of Schlupkothen is the district of Aprath , which has a S-Bahn stop . Every 20 minutes, the S9 line of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn connects to the regional centers of Essen and Wuppertal .

Schlupkothen quarry

The north of the district is characterized by the Schlupkothen quarry, in which more than 45 million tons of limestone were mined from 1898 to 1960 . Today it is designated as a nature reserve quarry Schlupkothen .
