The Schmiddis is the approximately 7 km long right upper course of the Haslach , which flows together in the flood retention basin Rappenbach from it and the left Rappenbach , which drains over the Rot approximately northwards to the Danube .

course

The Schmiddis rises inconsistently southwest of the hamlet Baniswald in the municipality Aitrach in the district Ravensburg in the eastern part of the forest Roter Grund . It initially flows east-northeast and then bends in a wide left-hand curve onto the north run, where after a gap in the forest it mostly runs through the Treherzer Forest . Shortly after the small village of Treherz , which lies on the left above the still wooded valley basin, the section with a steady flow has just started here, it leaves the forest completely and passes the hamlet of Schmiddis on the right slope. It flows into the long south-south- western bay of the flood retention basin Rappenbach and unites in the broader part of the basin with the somewhat shorter Rappenbach flowing through the south-western bay , which it exceeds even more clearly with its partial catchment area, to form the Haslach .

Three larger roads cross the Schmiddis, the district road K 7924 in the Treherzer Forest, the state road L 314 from Aitrach in the east to Treherz shortly before the end of the forest and another one from the hamlet of Schmiddis running northwestwards before it flows into the Rappenbach flood retention basin.
