The Schneibstein is 2276 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Hagen Mountains in the Berchtesgaden Alps on the border between Germany ( Bavaria ) and Austria ( Salzburg ).
Ascent
From the north-west, a mountain trail classified by the alpine associations as medium difficulty leads from the Schneibsteinhaus or the Carl-von-Stahl-Haus over the devil's walls upstream to the summit. This path continues south to the Seeleinsee under the Kahlersberg . The rare Alpine Ibex can be spotted along this path . The popular ski and hiking tours Small and Large Friction also lead over the mountain . In the relevant literature, the Schneibstein was repeatedly referred to as the "easiest two-thousand-meter peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps".
