The high board is 2340  m above sea level. NHN (according to German measurements) or 2338  m above sea level. A. (according to Austrian measurements) high mountain in the Göllstock in the Berchtesgaden Alps , over whose summit the border between Bavaria and Salzburg runs. The name is derived from the flat, stony plateau of the summit area. This offers a good view of the Berchtesgaden Alps and the Tennengebirge .

The Hohe Brett is an unproblematic, rewarding mountain tour and, along with the Schneibstein, is one of the easier two-thousanders around Berchtesgaden. The normal route begins at the Jennerbahn mountain station and leads over the Carl-von-Stahl-Haus ( 1731  m ), the steep southern flank (briefly exposed, but secured) and the Jägerkreuz to the summit in a good 2 hours. Another possible starting point with a significantly greater difference in altitude would be Hinterbrand, from where it goes over the Mitterkaser Alm, the southern flank and the Jägerkreuz to the summit, which takes a good 3 hours. Alternatively, you can climb up from there using the board fork . However, this route is almost pathless from the fork and is only accompanied by individual markings.

The ridge crossing over the Archenköpfe and the Kuchlerkreuz on the Hohen Göll are also considered worthwhile . This crossing, for which you need surefootedness and a head for heights , offers a good panorama. From the Hohen Göll you can also descend via other routes, for example to the Purtschellerhaus or via the Alpeltalsteig (No. 457).
