Shomart Nurghaliev

Scholars Mart Mirassuly Nurghalijew ( Kazakh Жомарт Мирасұлы Нұрғалиев , Russian Жомарт Мирасович Нургалиев / Scholars Mart Mirassowitsch Nurgaliyev * 16th March 1958 in Novotroitsk, Kazakh SSR ; † the 30th October 2014 in Kokshetau ) was a Kazakh politician.

Life

Shomart Nurghaliyev was born in 1958 in the village of Novotroitsk in the Qostanai region. He completed his training as a history teacher at the Qostanai Pedagogical Institute, where he graduated in 1981. Another degree followed in 2006 from Qostanai State University in Agricultural Sciences .

Since 1975 he has worked in various positions. Among other things, he worked for the All-Soviet Lenin Communist Youth Association, in whose campaign to open up new agriculturally usable areas in the border area of southern Siberia and northern Kazakhstan he was involved. From May 2006, he was the Äkim of Mengdiqara County in the Qostanai region before he was appointed Äkim (mayor) of the city of Qostanai on February 4, 2009 . He held this office until 2012 and was then Äkim of the Äulieköl district. On June 9, 2014 he would be appointed Äkim of the city of Kökschetau .

On October 30, 2014, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II , he was attending a concert when he suddenly felt uncomfortable. Nurghaliyev was taken to hospital, where he died shortly afterwards of a heart attack .
