Frank Schorkopf

Frank Schorkopf (born August 30, 1970 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

After high school and military service, Schorkopf studied law in Hamburg and London. He passed the first state examination in 1997. He then briefly worked as an assistant to the then Hamburg MEP Georg Jarzembowski in Brussels . In 1998 he got a position as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg ; In 1999 he received his doctorate from Meinhard Hilf . Schorkopf passed the second state examination in 2001. After passing the assessor exam , he initially worked at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg . In 2002 he moved to Karlsruhe as a research assistant at the Second Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court . In 2005 Schorkopf went to the University of Bonn as a research assistant at the chair of Udo Di Fabio . There he completed his habilitation in public law, European law and international law in 2007. After substituting a chair, Schorkopf received a university professorship in May 2009 at the chair for public law and European law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . He was Dean of the Faculty of Law from October 2012 to September 2014. He has been a full member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences since 2016 .

Frank Schorkopf lives in Göttingen with his wife and three children.
