The school complex at Brunnenmoosstrasse 15 includes, in addition to the two school wing sections, a singing hall, a gym , a sports field and a break hall. The Brunnenmoos school complex is a monument from the 1950s and a contemporary witness of the late rural style that was widespread at the time . It is classified as a cultural asset of regional importance and is listed as "other architectural monument" in the list of cultural assets in Kilchberg with three separate individual objects (see address Brunnenmoosstrasse 15).

history

A two-stage architectural competition was carried out for the construction project for the school complex . The jury honored in 1950 at the competition first stage the project by architect Emil Oberegger, Kilchberg 1st prize (CHF 3'400), that of the architect Alfred Binggeli, Kilchberg with the 2nd Prize (CHF 3,200). In the second stage of this competition, the jury recommended in 1951, based on the second processing of the task by the four invited award winners, who were each compensated with CHF 1,200, that Alfred Binggeli be entrusted with the further processing of the overall project for the entire facility and school buildings. The school complex was built according to his plans between 1954 and 1955. The foundation stone was laid on March 1st, 1954. The school complex was already on the map in 1956. Until 2016, the school complex served the upper school (secondary and junior high school). In 2016, the Kilchberg secondary school relocated from Brunnenmoos to the Moos area of the Rüschlikon municipality as part of the merger with the Rüschlikon secondary school. Due to delays in the construction of the new Campus Moos schoolhouse, the Brunnenmoos schoolhouse also housed the Rüschlikon secondary school a year earlier. After the secondary school had moved, the school complex was renovated and converted in 2017. Since then, the school system serves educational offerings such as lower grades of primary school , kindergarten , nursery and lunch , music school , school social work and therapeutic services .
