Schuschtalep ( Russian Шушталеп ) is a formerly independent settlement, today a district of Kaltan in the Kemerovo Oblast in Russia .

geography

Shushtalep is located between the towns of Kaltan and Ossinniki on the right bank of the Kondoma River on the railway line that runs through the Kuznetsk Basin via Novokuznetsk to Tashtagol (route kilometers between 405 and 412 from Jurga on the Trans-Siberian Railway ). The important main road Ossinniki - Tashtagol - Gorno-Altaisk and on to the Chinese border runs through the settlement . This road connects Western Siberia with China and Mongolia .

history

The place was founded around 1800 to 1806.

In 1913 construction began on the steel works on the Schuschtaleper building site after Kopikus AG had received the large order for the production of rails and a deposit of 1,000,000 rubles from the communications minister of the Tsarist Empire . Designed by Kurako , the work stayed on paper except for the forge because of the First World War and the 1917 revolution in Russia.

The first school was built here in 1923 after the October Revolution . In 1931, the Stalinsk (now Novokuznetsk) - Tashtagol railway line was moved through the settlement.
