The Schwarzmühle (also Riedmühle, Göllnersmühle, Höchamersmühle) is a wasteland on the boundary of the Markt Einersheim market in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Schwarzmühle is located in the southwest of the Markt Einersheimer municipality on the Breitbach tributary Moorseebach. To the north are Markt Einersheim and the train station on the Nuremberg – Würzburg railway line . To the northwest are the district of Am Wasserhäuschen and the Einersheim outdoor pool. The Schäfersberg rises to the south. The stone mill follows further to the southwest, also on the Moorseebach. The wasteland lies on the Franconian Marienweg .

history

The place name refers to the economic basis of the mill. Due to the high density of mills on the Moorseebach and Breitbach streams, a kind of division of labor between the individual companies developed. Here predominantly black, i.e. rye, flour was ground. The other name refers to the natural occurrences in the area. The Middle High German word ried can be interpreted as a swamp. So the mill was in the alluvial soil by the stream.

The Schwarzmühle was first mentioned in 1414. After a line of the Lords of Hohenlohe had expired in the male line , the Counts of Castell and the taverns of Limpurg divided up the possessions among themselves. Both sexes were assigned the "hofstat, do die Rietmule uff lay". So the mill was desolate at this point . A miller is only proven almost two hundred years later. Hans Gölner ran the mill between 1606 and 1608.

There were also several vineyards near the plant that were assigned to the mill. Between 1613 and 1623 the mill was named after the previous owner. The names "Gölnersmühlen", "Göllner-Müller" and "Göllners Mühle" appeared. Heinrich Herbold operated the plant as a miller until 1623 . In 1623 it was taken over by the existing miller Nicolaus Brand. In 1630 Martin Raab is proven as a tenant .

The name Schwarzmühle first appeared in 1676. Paulus Sachß operated the mill at that time. Between 1691 and 1699, the inventory of Bernhard Busch appeared more frequently in the sources . In 1700 he was sitting on the "Riedmühl". Busch was mentioned again in 1704 and for the last time in 1707, before the mill came into the hands of Johann Martin Döblinger. He managed the facility until 1719. In 1742 Anna Catharina Förster, née Döblinger, and her husband Peter Förster inherited the "Riet-Mühl".

The Schwarzmühle was one of the largest mills on the Moorseebach. At times, three grinding courses were operated there. In 1802 it was still assigned to the Rechteren-Limpurg rule . In the 20th century the old mill was demolished and new buildings were erected on the same site. In the second half of the 20th century, the mill was operated temporarily by the Höchamer family.
