Scott Adams (born June 8, 1957 ) is an American comic artist and author. He became known through the Dilbert comics and books.

Life

Adams studied economics and management with an MBA from the University of Berkeley . He then worked in open-plan offices for 17 years, most recently at the US telephone company Pacific Bell . There, in “endless meetings”, the comic figure Dilbert gradually took on her mouthless shape. Over the years, in his satirical books, he developed an extensive office microcosm in the field of tension between management and engineering. Adams suffered from spasmodic dysphonia for a time , which prevented him from speaking, but was improved by surgery.

In Germany, his comic strips appeared around the turn of the millennium in the business section of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit . 1997 Adams received the Reuben Award of the National Cartoonists Society as Cartoonist of the Year Award.

Adams also owns Scott Adams Foods, Inc. , which started offering vegan burritos called Dilberito from 1999 . Adams is a vegetarian. His net worth was estimated at several million dollars by Bloomberg Television in 2017 .

Commitment to Donald Trump

Since September 2016, Scott Adams has been an avowed supporter of Donald J. Trump , whom he repeatedly called a genius . He justified the fact that he had supported Hillary Clinton in June 2016 by saying that he had only faked this out of fear of Clinton and her supporters, as prominent Trump supporters feared for their lives. As early as August 2015, he predicted that Trump would win the race for the presidency because he had a persuasive skill that was far superior to all other applicants. The consideration of Trump's presidency and persuasiveness have since been the focus of his blog posts and video podcasts. After his election, Trump invited Adams to the Oval Office . With his book "Loserthink" from 2019, Adams tries to legitimize many conservative positions. Adams expressly denies climate change and is of the opinion that if CO 2 is a problem, it can be solved using suction technology and nuclear energy .

Whenhub and cryptocurrency

Scott Adams is a co-founder of CalendarTree, Inc., a software company called Whenhub. This software is used for paid advice by experts via a video connection. Payment is to be made via a separate crypto currency called "WHEN Token" that is integrated in the app . The qualifications of the experts are not checked.
