Scott Eyman

Scott Eyman (* 1951 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American author and film historian .

Life

Scott Eyman first wrote for the Cleveland daily The Plain Dealer . Early in his career he interviewed Bette Davis , Alfred Hitchcock , John Wayne , Billy Wilder and Mae West, among others .

In 1983 he settled in Florida and wrote there first for the Sun-Sentinel , and then until they were hired in 1988 for The Miami News . He then moved to the Palm Beach Post , for which he worked as a book critic until 2013. His book reviews and texts have also appeared in the New York Times , the Washington Post , the Chicago Tribune , the Wall Street Journal and numerous film magazines. Since 1986 Eyman has published various non-fiction books on film history , mainly on topics related to classic Hollywood cinema.

Eyman has been teaching film history at the University of Miami School of Communication since 2013 . In 2014, he was awarded the William K. Everson Film History Prize at the National Board of Review Awards .

He lives in West Palm Beach with his wife, journalist Lynn Kalber .
