Scott Milhouse Gimple (born March 29, 1971 in New Jersey ) is an American television producer and screenwriter , who was best known internationally as the showrunner of the American television series The Walking Dead . He is also the creator of the animated series Fillmore! .

Career

Gimple studied first at the University of Southern California and then at the School of CinemaTelevision. After graduating , he worked on cartoons such as Pepper Ann and American Dragon: Jake Long . In 2002, Scott Gimple invented the animated series Fillmore! , currently working on the television series Drive .

He also worked as the author of several comics for the television series The Simpsons and Bill Morrison's Heroes Anonymous .

Since 2013, Gimple took over the post as showrunner of the fourth season of the zombie series The Walking Dead , where he worked as a writer from the second season. In early 2018, AMC announced that they would part with Scott Gimple as a showrunner after the eighth season of The Walking Dead . Earlier, thousands of fans demanded by the dismissal of petitions Gimple after it was responsible for the death of a popular TV main character in the comic template of Robert Kirkman is still alive. In January 2018, Gimple was promoted to Chief Content Officer of the franchise at AMC . His successor as showrunner on The Walking Dead was the television producer and screenwriter Angela Kang .
