Scott Griekspoor (born January 10, 1991 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch tennis player .
Career
Scott Griekspoor started playing tennis at the age of twelve. His twin brother Kevin and his younger brother Tallon (* 1996) also play tennis. Kevin is far behind him, while Tallon is still in front of him.
As a junior, Griekspoor only played a few tournaments and reached 184th place in 2009, his highest position in the junior ranking. For the pros, he played exclusively on the third-rate ITF Future Tour from 2009 to 2013 . In 2013 he won his first title in doubles with his brother Kevin and was ranked 609 for the first time in the top 1000 of the world rankings . In 2014 he also managed to improve in the individual and reached three finals in futures, all of which were lost. Three more futures were added in doubles - one with his brother Tallon, so that he was in the top 600 at the end of the year. In 2015 the Dutchman played a Challenger tournament for the first time . In Scheveningen he also won his first match of this level. With three future titles and further finals, he gradually made his way up and was in 344th place at the end of 2015. After less success in 2016, despite reaching a Challenger quarter-finals in Blois and his first win against a player in the top 200, he made it again in 2017 more successful. He won five futures that year in singles and one in doubles.
2018 became more successful again. In addition to three futures, he also won his first tournament in this category in a surprising run at the Challenger in Blois , in the course of which he defeated five players placed above himself. In the final he defeated Félix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. Because of his ranking he was able to play mainly on this tour and reached two more quarterfinals in Cassis and Almaty . He also made his debut for the Dutch Davis Cup team in the fall , where he was defeated by the Canadian Milos Raonic . In August he was at his career high with 205th place, his best in doubles dates back to September 2014 with 419th place.
