Sean Patrick Collins (* thirtieth October 1983 in Troy , Michigan ) is a retired American ice hockey player , who among other 22 games during his playing career 2003-2013 Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League on the position of the defender denied Has.
Career
Sean Collins began his career as a hockey player with the Cleveland Barons, for which he was active from 2000 to 2002 in the junior division of the North American Hockey League . On March 19, 2007, Collins signed a free agent contract with the Washington Capitals , for their farm team , the Hershey Bears , he made his professional ice hockey debut towards the end of the 2006/07 season when he made three games in the American Hockey League stood on the ice. In the following season he ran twelve times for the Hershey Bears in the AHL and mostly for their cooperation partner South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL . For the Stingrays he scored two goals in a total of 51 games and provided 21 templates.
In the 2008/09 season, the American won a regular place with the Bears, with whom he won the Calder Cup at the end of the season. He also made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals, for which he scored one goal and one assist in 15 games. In the following season , Collins was exclusively in the squad of the Bears, with whom he was able to win the Calder Cup again. Also in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons he was almost exclusively in the AHL squad and only made six appearances for the Capitals.
In the summer of 2012, Collins moved from the Bears to the Connecticut Whale , the New York Rangers ' farm team at the time , and came up with 76 missions there. After the 2012/13 season, the defender no longer signed a contract with a professional team.
