Sebastián Balsas , full name Sebastián Andrés Balsas Bruno (born March 5, 1986 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

Youth and amateur time

During his youth he was a member of the Nacional Montevideo association. There he played in the Séptima at the age of 15 . However, his family emigrated to Spain in 2001 in the wake of the South American financial crisis for economic reasons. In Spain he was a member of the youth teams of Zaragoza and Oliver . He found his way into professional football after his talent was discovered during a futsal game in his old home country during a futsal game by entrepreneur Gustavo Nikitiuk, who was kicking in the opposing team. First he played in the Tercera Liverpool Montevideos . Then he trained a half series with the first team of Miramar Misiones , but was not used. After he was informed that he would not be counted on in the future, he switched to racing in the Tercera team. There he completed 14 of 15 games and scored four goals.

First professional assignment and further career

In the first team he finally made his debut with a starting eleven against Boston River , in which he scored a goal directly. In 2008 the striker celebrated the Segunda División championship win with Racing . In the subsequent first division season he scored eleven goals (six in the Apertura 2008, five in the Clausura 2009). Other sources cite eight goals (six in the Apertura 2008, two in the Clausura 2009) in 26 missions that season. He was also able to qualify with the team for the 2010 Copa Libertadores . After four goals in four games in the Apertura 2009 and the interest of various larger clubs, including Nacional and its local rival Peñarol Montevideo , aroused by his performances during this time , he decided to move to Nacional Montevideo . The move came about when a businessman acquired 50 percent of the transfer rights, which were valued at one million US dollars. During the Torneo Apertura 2009 and the Clausura 2010 he was from then on in the Bolsos squad . In addition to 17 games (five goals) in the Primera División , his record also includes three matches each in the Copa Libertadores and Liguilla Pre Libertadores 2009 . The following season he went to Argentina, where he joined San Lorenzo de Almagro . At the end of January 2011, his move to Tenerife for six months on loan was announced, whereby the transfer rights should also fall to the club Racing, which is still half involved. There is also talk of an intermittent return to Racing in the Torneo Clausura 2011, which was followed by his move to Europe in Spain's second division, the Liga Adelante . There he was on loan with the option to buy from the beginning of the 2011/12 season in four league games and only 44 minutes for FC Córdoba on the pitch. There were also three appearances in the cup. From Spain, his path led at the beginning of 2012 on the basis of a one-year loan agreement with a purchase option to the Argentinos Juniors , where he was supposed to strengthen the storm center after the departure of Santiago Salcedo . In July 2012 he signed a contract with Independiente Rivadavia . For this club, to which he moved on loan for a year, he joined the Primera B Nacional in the 2012/13 season , where he was used three times. Mid-2013 he returned to Córdoba CF back. Initially, there was an engagement with Danubio , but it was broken because of an operation that had become necessary for Balsas due to a herniated disc.

In January 2014 he joined Racing again . A mission is not carried out there for him. In mid-August 2014 he moved to L'Aquila Calcio in Italy . There he was not used in the league. Balsas finally had to end his sporting career due to a back injury and therefore terminated his contract at the end of 2014. After retiring, he runs a restaurant in Saragossa (as of May 2016) .
