Sebastian Frei

Sebastian Frei (born 1980 in Mosbach ) is a lawyer and non-party local politician. He has been Lord Mayor of Bad Rappenau since February 2, 2018 .

Life

Frei grew up in Hüffenhardt and graduated from high school in 2000 . He then did his community service in Bad Rappenau and began studying law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , which he completed as a qualified lawyer . After completing his legal clerkship at the Heidelberg Regional Court, Frei became a probationary judge at the Mosbach Regional Court , and then worked as a public prosecutor at the Mosbach public prosecutor's office. In 2013 he was appointed judge for life at the Mosbach Regional Court . Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the Schwetzingen University of Justice .

In 2017, Frei applied to succeed the previous Lord Mayor of Bad Rappenau, Hans Heribert Blättgen . His candidacy was supported by the CDU and the SPD . On November 5, 2017, he was elected Lord Mayor of Bad Rappenau with 71.69 percent of the vote against his competitor Gordan Pendelic in the first ballot. Frei took up his post on February 2, 2018. In the local elections in 2019 , he was elected to the district council of the Heilbronn district on the CDU list.

Frei is married.
