Sebastian Gleißner

Sebastian Gleißner (born January 27, 1829 in Schwandorf ; † October 1, 1890 in Traunstein ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Sebastian Gleißner was born as the sixth of nine children of the town farmers' spouses Josef and Ursula Gleißner. The house where he was born is in Schwandorf at Bahnhofstrasse 19, and he grew up on Spitzwegstrasse.

Gleißner visited the educational institutions in Amberg and Regensburg together with his next younger brother . Both completed their theology studies. Sebastian traveled extensively and was the tutor of the manor owner of Paur for five years. Then he was pastor in Lutzmannstein and district school inspector for four years . From 1874 he was pastor in Neumarkt and repeatedly district councilor.

From 1884 to 1887 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Palatinate 3 ( Neumarkt , Velburg , Hemau ) and the German Center Party .
