Sebastian Heiss (also Heiss ; Latinized Sebastianus Heissius ; * 1571 in Augsburg ; † July 20, 1614 in Ingolstadt ) was a German Jesuit and controversial .

Life

He was born in Augsburg and probably received his early education there. Later he studied for three years at the University of Ingolstadt philosophy . In 1591 he entered the Jesuit order and became a controversial preacher . He also taught polemics and metaphysics in Ingolstadt from 1599. After becoming a Dr. theol. received his doctorate , he taught theology at the Jesuit College in Munich and at the University of Dillingen .

He returned to Ingolstadt in 1609. He had to stop teaching in 1614 due to illness.
