Sebastian Schanz

Sebastian Schanz (* 1977 in Tübingen ) is a German economist , tax advisor (StB) and professor of business administration (BWL). He holds the chair for business taxation at the Faculty of Law and Economics (RW) at the University of Bayreuth .

Life

Sebastian Schanz completed his schooling at the 1997 Wirtschaftsgymnasium the Theodor Heuss School Reutlingen . He then did his military service from 1997 to 1998 with the Fernspählehrkompanie 200 in Pfullendorf .

Schanz studied business administration from 1998 to 2004 at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and the University of Missouri , Columbia , in the United States . He then worked from 2004 to 2007 as a lecturer at the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart .

Schanz did his doctorate in February 2008 with Rainer Niemann at the Karl-Franzens- Universität Graz . His dissertation was entitled "Strategic Optimal Repatriation" .

In 2008, Schanz also worked as a senior assistant at Ernst & Young AG in Frankfurt am Main . He was appointed tax advisor in 2009.

From 2008 to 2010, Schanz held the junior professorship for Accounting, Taxes, Finance at the Faculty of Economics at Bielefeld University .

From 2010 to 2013 he was professor of business taxation at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg . Since 2009 he has been married to Deborah Schanz, who is also a professor of taxation at the LMU in Munich. The two have three children.

Schanz has held the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Bayreuth since 2013.

So far, Schanz has published over 60 fonts as part of his research (as of January 2015).
