Sebastiano Galeati
Sebastiano Cardinal Galeati (born February 8, 1822 in Imola , † January 25, 1901 in Ravenna ) was Archbishop of Ravenna .
Life
After Sebastiano Galeati was confirmed in 1829 , he studied civil and canon law in Rome until May 1848 . He was ordained a priest in Imola in September 1844 . After studying in Rome, he was a theologian at the Imola seminary and in the cathedral chapter .
He practiced this activity for more than thirty years before he became Bishop of Macerata-Tolentino in 1881 at the age of almost 60 . The episcopal ordination Galeati received on August 14, 1881 along with the future Cardinal Giuseppe D'Annibale by Cardinal Vicar Raffaele Monaco La Valletta ; Co-consecrators were Giulio Lenti , Auxiliary Bishop in Rome , and François Marinelli OESA, Titular Bishop of Porphyreon . Six years later, on May 23, 1887, he became Archbishop of Ravenna.
Pope Leo XIII. took Galeati on 23 June 1890 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Lorenzo in Panisperna into the College of Cardinals on. He died ten and a half years later, shortly before his 79th birthday, in Ravenna and was buried in the cathedral there.
