Sebastiano Nicotra
Sebastiano Nicotra (born August 31, 1855 in Giarre , Province of Catania , Italy ; † May 21, 1929 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .
Life
Sebastiano Nicotra received on 21 December 1878, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On December 18, 1916, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . the titular archbishop of Heraclea in Europe , and it ordered the apostolic nuncio in Chile . Benedict XV donated him episcopal ordination on January 6, 1917 ; Co-consecrators were the Papal Almsman , Archbishop of Curia Giovanni Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano , and the Pope's sacristan , Curia Bishop Agostino Zampini OSA .
On October 1, 1918 Benedict XV appointed him. Apostolic Nuncio to Belgium and on 30 November the same year also the Apostolic Internuncio in Luxembourg and the Netherlands . Sebastiano Nicotra became Apostolic Nuncio in Portugal on May 30, 1923 .
On May 16, 1928 Nicotra resigned as Apostolic Nuncio in Portugal.
