Shortly afterwards, the East Branch Sebasticook River meets the Sebasticook River coming from the north. The river then turns towards the south-southeast. He passes the places Burnham , Clinton and Benton . The Maine State Route 100 follows the river. Eventually the Sebasticook River reaches Winslow , where it joins the Kennebec River. The Sebasticook River has a length of 66 km. Its catchment area covers 2522 km².
fauna
The river system of the Sebasticook River used to be an important spawning area for the sea bass species Morone saxatilis , the herring species Alosa sapidissima and Alosa pseudoharengus of the genus Alosa and other migratory fish. As part of the renaturation program in the catchment area of the Kennebec River, the Fort Halifax Dam in Winslow was demolished in 2003 in order to make the river section above accessible again for migratory fish.
