The Duisburg Sechs-Seen-Platte is a recreation area consisting of six lakes , most of which is located in Wedau , a district of Duisburg in the Duisburg-Süd district . The Sechs-Seen-Platte consists of the lakes: Wambachsee , Masurensee , Böllertsee , Wolfssee , Wildförstersee and Haubachsee . A small, western part of the Wildförstersee belongs to the Großenbaum district .

The lakes have a total water surface of about 150 hectares . The entire area covers an area of around 283 hectares and can be reached via the A3 , exit “Duisburg-Wedau”, as well as the DVG bus lines 934 and 941 . It has a network of 18 kilometers of hiking trails . The six-Seen-Platte emerged from the gravel dredging of Count Spee on Castle Heltorf . The Haubachsee was only fully dredged in 2001.

Wolfsberg , located on Wolfssee, was created in 1967 from the heap of sand , gravel and rubble on parts of a former shooting range and parts of a former Luftwaffe ammunition depot . There was a 21-meter-high wooden observation tower on top of the mountain, which was burned in July 2002 . A 23 meter high new steel building was inaugurated in its place in March 2006.

There is an outdoor pool at Wolfssee , which can be reached via the Kalkweg. But there are also swimming opportunities on many other banks. However, with a few exceptions, bathing in the Duisburg lakes is generally prohibited.

On the eastern shore of Lake Masuria there is also the possibility of officially camping and barbecuing on a meadow.
