Second Function is a Swiss rock band from Zurich .

history

Both Flo Bühler (vocals, guitar) and Sascha Wydler (bass) from Zurich founded their first band as a schoolboy. In 2004 Lukas Jundt from Basel joined the group as a new drummer. The first individual productions followed, among others with VO Pulver ( Gurd ) and numerous appearances throughout Switzerland. They gained their stage experience alongside their own concerts as the opening act for Die Happy , Jethro Tull and Life of Agony .

In 2008 the debut album Time Stops Running was released , produced with Lunik mastermind Luk Zimmermann. The album was released on Leech Redda and distributed through Phonag Records in Switzerland . In spring 2009 the band toured Japan as headliner for two weeks and played ten concerts in 13 days. This was followed by numerous club and festival appearances in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, a concert in Reading (England) as well as supporting acts by Biffy Clyro , New Found Glory , Carpark North and Ash and a Germany tour with Twin Atlantic . In total, Second Function have performed over 250 times so far.

In the spring of 2010 the band took a short break from live to write new songs. In November 2010 Second Function traveled to England to record their next album with John Mitchell ( You Me at Six , Enter Shikari , The Blackout , Funeral for a Friend , Arena , Kino , Kids in Glass Houses ). The album was mastered by Sara Register ( Foo Fighters , Lou Reed , Garbage , Patti LaBelle ) in New York's renowned The Lodge Mastering Studio . Dry, Crisp & Bittersweet was released on October 28, 2011 by Leech Records and distributed via Phonag Records in Switzerland, later in Germany, Austria and England via Cargo Records .
