The von Seedorf family was a Bernese notable family that had owned the citizenship rights of the city of Bern since 1250 at the latest and expired in the male line before 1400.

history

The von Seedorf should come from Seedorf in Bern . It is unclear how the Seedorf managed to become one of the wealthiest families in Bern. Members of the family acquired numerous estates in Frienisberg , Lyss , Schüpfen , Büetigen , Iffwil , Rüfenacht , Trimstein and Wichtrach in the second half of the 13th century . The brothers Peter and Kuno both became mayors of Bern .

The sex of Seedorf is not with the family of in Moosseedorf from 1242 Kyburg ministerials miles Ulricus de Sedorf to be confused with the nickname Moser.
