The transmitter Lienz was a broadcasting facility of the ORF in Lienz for medium wave , which went into operation in 1958. The transmitter Lienz broadcast the 1st program ( Austria 1 ) on 629 kHz with 1 kW transmission power and the 2nd program (Austria 2, today the regionalized Ö2 ) on 584 kHz with 10 kW transmission power and used a 104 m high transmission mast as the transmitting antenna . In 1984 the Lienz transmitter was shut down, some time later the transmitter mast was dismantled and a nursing home for the elderly was built on the site. The former transmitter building serves as the entrance wing to the dormitory.
