The Pfaffenwald transmitter mast was a 126 meter high, guyed steel framework mast with a triangular cross-section in a forest area east of Strantschitschach, a place in the municipality of Maria Rain , which was used to broadcast television programs.
history
The transmission mast of the system stood on the Wilhelminenberg in Vienna from 1952 to 1959 , where it served to broadcast the " Red-White-Red " program on medium wave. In 1959 it was dismantled and rebuilt at its current location. On November 17, 2009, the transmitter was switched off as part of the switch to DVB-T. The now functionless transmission mast was torn down on September 15, 2011.
