Localization of Baden-Württemberg in Germany

The transmitter Waldenburg is a transmitter for radio of the SWR . It stands on a wooded hill, directly on the state road 325 between Schlier and Vogt , east of the hamlet of Neuwaldburg in Baden-Württemberg, which belongs to the municipality of Waldburg . It is designed as a 73 m high steel framework mast and was erected in 2003/2004 as a replacement for a guyed steel framework mast of a similar height by the company betec AG, whereby the assembly was partly carried out with the help of a helicopter.

A special feature of the Waldburg transmitter is that the building for the radio transmitters is not next to the antenna carrier, but about 150 meters west-north-west of this, which is absolutely unusual for transmitters that only transmit in the UHF / VHF range due to transmission losses. However, there is still a building next to the antenna carrier in which devices for directional and mobile radio are housed.

From here, Oberschwaben , Lake Constance and the Allgäu are supplied with the radio programs SWR4 Baden-Württemberg and SWR2 via VHF .
