Seraphina "Sera" Asuamah-Kofoh (born February 17, 1999 ) is a German basketball player .
Career
Asuamah-Kofoh was discovered when she was nine years old at her home club, the Citybasket Recklinghausen , and was considered a "huge talent" there. For several years she played in the junior Bundesliga (WNBL). In the 2014/15 season, as a 15-year-old under coach Sascha Bornschein, she played for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga for the Wuppertal club Barmer TV and played the following season for further sporting development at the Herner TC in its regional league and the WNBL team . In 2016 Asuamah-Kofoh returned to Wuppertal and became a regular player as a result of Hannah Wischnitzki's injury .
In the summer of 2017, the 160 centimeter tall winger moved to league competitor TG Neuss Tigers , where she also made her breakthrough under coach Janina Pils. In June 2018, the German with Ghanaian roots was signed by the first division team TV Saarlouis Royals and played her first game in the 1st women's basketball league on September 28, 2018 in the 51:63 home defeat against TK Hannover .
In June 2012, the Recklinghausen woman was part of a U-13 perspective squad, when she was 14 she was appointed to the German national squad for the first time. In 2014 Asuamah-Kofoh became U-16 European Champion (Division B), three years later U-18 European Champion (Division B). She is currently in the squad of the U-20 national team .
Asuamah-Kofoh was a student at the Maria Sibylla Merian Comprehensive School in Bochum , an elite school of sports , and trained at the Wattenscheid location of the Westphalia Olympic base . She has been studying electrical engineering at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences since October 2018 .
