Serge Nubret

Serge Nubret (born October 6, 1938 in Anse-Bertrand , Guadeloupe , † April 19, 2011 in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine ) was a French bodybuilder and actor .

Life

Nubret moved to Paris with his parents at the age of 12; In 1958 he returned there to avoid military service. Three years later he came back to France through his success as a bodybuilder.

Nubret, who was able to win five world titles ( Mr. Europe , Mr. Universum etc.) in bodybuilding (and also finished second behind Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Mister Olympia 1975 election ), appeared in several films between 1961 and 1986, and later also in guest roles in television series.

He later became involved in the cultural field by working in schools in the field of violence prevention. In 2005, during the youth riots , he took part in talks with the then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy several times .

In 2006 he published the autobiography Je suis - moi & Dieu (Publibook, ISBN 2-7483-3424-8 ).

On March 19, 2009, Nubret was found unconscious in his home and has been under medical care ever since. He died in April 2011 at the age of 72.
