Sergei Wladimirowitsch Mandreko ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Мандреко ; born August 1, 1971 in Kurgan-Tjube , Tajik SSR ) is a Tajik - Russian - Austrian football coach and former player.
Athletic career
Club career
In the German 1st Bundesliga , the midfielder played for Hertha BSC and VfL Bochum in almost 70 games. Before that, he took his first steps in Western European professional football at Rapid Vienna and won the national championship and cup with the top Austrian team and made it into the final of the Cup Winners' Cup on the European stage in 1996 .
Selection bets
In the national jersey, Mandreko played for three different teams: in 1992 initially at the beginning of the year for the USSR successor CIS and in the summer for Tajikistan and again in 1994 for Russia . As early as 1991 he won the bronze medal with the U20 team of the Soviet Union at the Junior World Cup in Australia in the small final against the hosts by winning on penalties.
Coaching career
After his career at SC-ESV Parndorf in 1919 , Sergei Mandreko started his coaching career. From 2008 to 2014 he was assistant coach of the Europa League participant Lokomotiv Moscow . Since 2015 he has been coaching the Viennese amateur club LAC Inter.
Further career
In spring 2017 he was diagnosed with early stage ALS . The 45-year-old is currently finding it difficult to walk. To support Mandreko, a charity event will be organized for him on April 17th by his association LAC with the support of his former association Rapid Wien . Among other things, his former Rapid colleagues Didi Kühbauer and Stefan Marasek will appear in a legendary game.
